After the unfortunate diagnosis while only in his forties... Michael Longson has lost his battle from the horrible disease of ALS. He has struggled every day with trying to fight all the devastating symptoms ALS brings to him. He could not speak or eat through his mouth, had difficulty breathing on a daily basis, loss strength and muscle mass and constantly choked on his own saliva.

With all that he was going through he found the strength to wake every day with a big smile to everyone he met. Everyone he passed whether on foot or riding in a car would get a big thumbs up for hello and he tried his best to make them smile.

ALS took everything from Michael and devastated him financially, but he tried his best to leave joy behind.

He was a pastor in North Carolina before ALS affected his mind and body. His last year was spent on disability. Part of his funeral burial expenses were paid but we are still short $5,000 of our goal. Michael leaves behind 4 young girls who will have college and other needs in their future. Any funds collected over the amount needed for funeral expenses will go into a trust for the girls. Any help you can give to us would be greatly appreciated!
