Recently, my friend Meech started posting matcha taste-test videos on TikTok. They are nothing short of cinematic art.

After a couple of videos, Meech announced he would NOT be continuing the series. His reasoning? "This s*** is too expensive."

Unacceptable.

The people need the Meech Matcha Series. NYC needs the Matcha Series. I need the Matcha Series. So I'm raising money to fund Meech's continued descent into the world of ceremonial-grade green powder — every overpriced matcha latte, every $9 oat milk upcharge, every shop in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens that thinks $12 is a reasonable price for hot leaf water.

The catch (and the actual point):

Every dollar raised here goes to Toys4Kids, the charity I'm fundraising for as part of the NYC Marathon. Meech does not see a cent. Meech will, however, see this GoFundMe, and that is its own reward.

So if you've ever watched a Matcha Series video and thought "I wish there were more of these," or if you just want to support kids getting toys this holiday season, throw in a few bucks. You're funding a great cause AND you're voting, with your wallet, that Meech keeps drinking matcha he can't afford.
