Hi! I'm Mae Jewell and I'm on a mission to bring my filmmaking dreams to life at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)! Starting September 8th, 2025, I'll be pursuing a Film and Media Design degree, building on a lifelong passion ignited by my grandfather's own video company. From starring in his local commercials as a child to becoming my high school's only four-year film student in my senior class, I've dedicated myself to mastering the craft of visual storytelling. My ultimate goal? To combine my love for animals with my filmmaking skills and become a wildlife filmmaker, hopefully even for National Geographic ;)

SCAD has recognized my dedication, awarding me significant scholarships that cover over half of my tuition for all four years. This incredible support is a testament to my academic achievements, artistic achievements, and financial need as well. However, a remaining balance is due by August 2nd, and I'm diligently working to bridge that gap. I currently hold two jobs – a receptionist at a local salon and a K-1 Sunday school teacher at my church – as well as running my own summer side business babysitting, pet sitting, and/or house sitting.

Unfortunately, SCAD only accepts private student loans, and due to my family's financial circumstances, neither of my parents are eligible to co-sign. As someone who has been working since the age of 14 to contribute living full-time with my single father and younger sister, I'm no stranger to hard work.
