Hi!

My name is Lyla Mecham and I LOVE teaching. In fact, I want to be a special education teacher. I recently came across a program called ILP where you volunteer to go teach in another country for 3-4 months, and this is a DREAM for me! I have decided I want to teach in Peru, and I would be doing this during the Spring 2026 semester. This means I'd be in Peru for my 19th birthday!

My reason for fundraising is because I am still in high school, and I'm finding it difficult to save so much so quickly. Teaching and traveling with ILP is a dream for me.
