Hi, my name is Joseph, and I’m raising $5,000 to cover travel expenses, team fees, equipment, and athletic gear for my 14-year-old son, Lukas.
He’s been selected to represent both his wrestling club and the Washington State National Dual Team at the National Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia in June— an incredible opportunity we couldn’t have imagined when his journey began.
Lukas only started wrestling 16 months ago after a big move to Washington. Much of his childhood was spent in Texas where wrestling wasn’t widely popular, so he got a late start — but the moment he stepped on the mat, he was hooked. None of us expected him to take to the sport so quickly, let alone reach this level in such a short time. He now competes year-round, balancing schoolwork, training, and weekend tournaments all over the state with both his school team and his club.
In just over a year, Lukas has worked incredibly hard to earn a place on Washington’s National Team. His dedication through adversity is inspiring. Whether it’s dieting and cutting weight to compete in tougher brackets, or bouncing back from tough losses with gratitude and humility, he’s shown what it means to be a true student of the sport.
Lukas is known for his good sportsmanship — always encouraging teammates, learning from every match, and staying positive no matter the outcome. He has demonstrated empathy and respect for his opponents that are beyond his years. He’s passionate, very humble, and admirably committed to personal growth.
This trip to the National Championship is a huge milestone in his athletic career, and we’re doing everything we can to support him. If you’re able to contribute, every dollar will go directly toward making this dream a reality.
Special opportunity for small businesses: Any business that donates $500 or more will have the option to have their business name or logo printed on Lukas’s team shirt, which he’ll proudly wear during the tournament. It’s a great way to support a young athlete and gain visibility at a national event!
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting Lukas on this incredible journey.
— Joseph
