Lucky Larry is an independent animated feature film set against one of the most consequential events in modern American history: September 11, 2001. Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. A quarter century later, the events of that day still shape American politics, culture, foreign policy, security, and the lives of millions of people who remember exactly where they were when it happened. Lucky Larry approaches that history from a different angle. The film is a darkly satirical, fictionalized story built around the personalities, circumstances, questions, and cultural mythology that have surrounded 9/11 for the past 25 years. Our goal is not simply to retell an event everyone already knows. It is to create an entertaining, provocative animated film that examines a moment in history Americans are still discussing, debating, and trying to understand.

What changed everything for us was the audience response. As we began releasing material from Lucky Larry, people started sharing it, discussing it, debating it, and asking when they could see more. What began as a small independent production started reaching people far outside our immediate circle, and it became clear that there was a real audience interested in seeing this film completed.

I’m building this project with Lucas, and we’ve done it while both working full-time jobs. Lucky Larry has been built on nights, weekends, and whatever time we could carve out to keep it moving forward. We’ve already invested our own time, money, and resources into it, and seeing how far it has come with a small independent team has only made us more determined to keep building it the right way.

The challenge is that animation is expensive. Taking Lucky Larry from what we have already created into a professionally produced feature film requires more artists, more animation, more sound, more production resources, and ultimately much more time. That is why this fundraiser for Lucky Larry Series LLC matters right now. The funds will help us continue production, pay the artists, animators, filmmakers, voice talent, and collaborators doing the work, and bring the film to completion.

For me, this campaign is also about giving the audience a real chance to be part of making this film happen. There is something particularly meaningful about doing that with this story. 9/11 did not belong to one filmmaker, one political party, or one generation. It was an event experienced by an entire country, and its consequences are still with us 25 years later. We have already started. We have already put our own resources behind it.
