Fund Lifesaving Therapy for My Daughter’s Mental Health
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lashawn and I am many things but above all else, I am a mother first. When it comes to my children my pride doesn’t exist. I have a soon to be 14 year old daughter who has been battling with severe mental health issues. I didn’t want to post her picture because I don’t want to cause embarrassment to her even though I am not embarrassed of our battle that we have been facing for almost a year. It breaks my heart to say that my daughter has attempted twice to take her own life. She has been to a temporary mental hospital twice. Have participated with inpatient and outpatient therapy and have even been put on medication. Medication is just a band aid that suppress her mental and emotional state. My daughter is a bright young lady , very talented in so many different ways who has so many dreams and aspirations. One of those dreams is to become a missionary. She has a really Big heart and love to do things for others to make them happy. Her mental illness is getting in the way of her being the best version of herself. I say all that to say my daughter and myself feel the best treatment for her is a 12 month therapeutic treatment program. I am trying everything in my power to save my daughter from herself. My biggest fear is falling asleep and waking up to my life being shattered from a permanent solution caused by a temporary emotion. As a parent I’m sure a lot of you can understand . With the acceptation of selling our home soon, it won’t cover the full tuition. Insurance won’t cover because it’s not a “Mental Institution”. She does not need to be institutionalized, she needs extreme therapy so she can learn to love life, love herself and thrive in it. I am a supporter of my community and I am asking this one time for support from my or any community. I am in the process of selling everything that I have worth selling and cashing in on my retirement, which I’ve already had to cash out some due to being off work to attend to my daughter to help her. The Lord say, “ Ask and you shall receive “. I know what I am asking of may be a lot but Pennie’s add up. God has given me the strength and patience to fight this battle that I have been fighting for a while now and I can’t do it alone anymore. We need all the help and support that we can get. Thank you for listening to my cry for help. I hope anyone can find it in their hearts to help us help our daughter.
