Fund life saving Bevacizumab medication for cancer treatment

Hi my name is Anna. I’m 2024 I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. After undergoing major surgery and chemotherapy it was then discovered that the cancer had metastasised making me stage 4. During the 5 months after the spread was discovered the cancer continued to grow and spread whist treatment plans and referrals for surgery were made. The spread has now been described as extensive, I have Hypermetabolic serosal, peritoneal and retroperitoneal metastases as well as Krukenberg tumours. I also have mutated KRAS which limits treatment options and means my prognosis is poor. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy in the hopes to stabilise and shrink the cancer and make me eligible for surgery (CRS/HIPEC) which would give me more time and could even cure me. After researching and discussion with my oncologist, the medication Bevacizumab would have enormous benefits for me in reducing the cancer. This has also been confirmed by the National Colorectal feedback forum who my oncologist contacted regarding the medication. Although NICE guidelines changed in December regarding the availability of the Bevacizumab, my oncologist has been unable to get it approved for me meaning my only option is to pay privately. Obviously time is of the essence especially as my last blood results show no change in my tumour markers even though I am undergoing chemotherapy. My oncologist is still advocating for me but in the meantime I will do whatever it takes to try and survive this. I’ve looked at costings and currently the medication is about £1500 per cycle and I would have two cycles per month. I do not have the money to pay for the medication so I am asking for help in the hopes I can receive this treatment and potentially reduce the cancer to make me eligible for surgery which could save my life or at the very least give me more time. For as hard as it is asking for money the thought of dying and leaving my children is far, far harder and I want to do everything I can to be around for them. Any funds received will go to this medication and if I’m fortunate to become eligible for surgery then it will also help towards travel costs and the other costs associated with that. I am currently off sick from my job as an NHS nurse and whilst I am incredibly fortunate to receive sick pay this will soon run out and won’t stretch to the cost of the medication. My family and I would be incredibly grateful for any donation to enable me to have this potential life saving medication. Thank you for reading
