Hi, I would like to share mine and my 17-year-old daughter Elexus (Lexi)'s story and reach out for financial help with her dental bills. I have been keeping my willpower to try daily to stay strong. Although it's tough to push through these trying times, being unemployed and having our (my) vehicle unlawfully taken after finally finding us a place living with my Momma in August 2025 after being homeless for some time.
Since 2013, I was in a VERY TOXIC, emotionally and mentally destructive 10-year marriage/relationship that I tried to leave/separate from numerous times. Lexi was born in '09, and unfortunately, she was along for that terrible ride . I was employed during this time, worked several different jobs, and attended college classes virtually and in person. For some time, I was able to take care of her dental appointments and was on the last appointment right before making the move to orthodontist care. She had a very crowded mouth and was young and careless about brushing and flossing, not to mention her mental health was slowly declining between her terrible and unfortunate home life and being bullied by her peers. After not paying off her account fully to $0, the dental office informed me that they would not be able to see her until that was paid. At this time, my (ex) husband had just had surgery and was not pushing the disability paperwork to start receiving payments, along with two new car payments. It was always a struggle financially; he always placed his needs and wants first. So needless to say, her last dental appointment was in 2019. After this, things went downhill incredibly fast to the point my mental illnesses took me down. I continued to work; however, I was emotionally and mentally unavailable for my daughter off and on for some time. I was unable to schedule appointments and keep them or pay for them.
Since then, things have changed tremendously. Lexi and I are now living at my mom's house. I left my (ex) in April of 2025, almost separated for a full year. I wish that I could have mustered the strength to leave sooner; when Lexi started recognizing the abuse would have been ideal. Lexi and I couldn't be more free from the chains of him and his toxic abuse. However, we have experienced life still testing our strength and willpower, me and Lexi having to be separated for some time, having our only vehicle unlawfully taken, unlawfully placed criminal charges (after having a clean slate all my adult years), along with losing all our home and all of our belongings in it. So unfortunately, I am still struggling with finding employment, having unpaid fines that turn into a warrant for each fine. I am finally capable and have time to make sure she gets that dental/health care she needs and deserves, but it is very much a financial burden. Lexi's insurance does cover most of it, but I will attach the breakdown of her billing... I am just seeking financial help with funds to pay for her appointments and gas, being I have to borrow my mom's vehicle. Elexus (my baby) is an absolute angel; she has waited so long for this and deserves it so much. She would literally do anything to help anyone; she kept me strong, helped keep me in touch with my willpower, and kept her patience and trust in me enough to hold my hand through the fire to the other side♡♡♡♡
Upside with that all being said, we are very excited to be away from the old situation and staying focused on making new steps on our journey to our future.
