This update is long overdue, it’s just tough to write.
First, Marsha has been humbled and blown away by your generosity – she could not have approached this terrifying situation without your help and she is so grateful. Unfortunately, the judge did not rule in her favor and her court ordered ‘lifetime support’ that had been whittled down already will stop next year – Don had already stopped paying her so she has to hope that he will following thru on this court order.
The idea was to close this website now that her court appearance is over but I have been arguing with her. Marsha has felt like her life has been splayed open for all to see and now she has to make humiliating decisions like keep health insurance or pay the oil bill, between gas for the car or save to pay taxes… With her reluctant approval I am going to leave this site open as long as is allowed – any funds that are put in get swept into Marsha’s bank account the next day.
This has proven to be a wonderful, gentle way to come along side someone and lend a hand.
This is from Marsha:
“All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we’re giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That’s one of the things that connects us as neighbors – in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver. – Fred Rogers “
This quote from Mr. Rogers speaks to your generous role in this quest for justice. Unfortunately, court was disappointing. I am forever grateful to all of you givers. I hope to give back with a full heart as I continue to move forward.
With deepest gratitude, Marsha
