No one embodies the “Aloha Spirit” more than our friend, Laureen Shipley. She’s always encouraging her friends through bad times and good. A lifelong surfer, she loves Mother Ocean, beach walks, sea glass and sea creatures (including fellow human water-rats).

Laureen has faced many tough challenges in her life. She’s overcome a horrific battle with breast cancer, family tragedy, and numerous injuries, including recent knee surgery and rehab. And yet she remains one of the most positive people I know.

Now we need to help Laureen rehab and rebuild one more time. As you probably know, she fell and broke her neck (C6 vertebrae) at the beginning of this month. After surgery and a rough stay in the ICU, she’s now in an intensive rehab program to gain back her mobility.  When they did the surgery, they discovered that her spinal cord was infected, which may have caused the fall and will impact her healing and recovery.

Please help me raise a nest egg to ensure that she has every resource she needs to make a full recovery. Every dollar helps and no amount is too small. Let’s show her how much she means to her O’hana (family) and how badly we want her back at the beach and in the ocean!!!
