I'm raising funds to cover transportation and to pay artists for a performance featuring Latin American storytelling. During these tumultuous times, it is important to imagine future troubles and resolutions to give us hope. This performance project tells the story of a family of graverobbers striving to develop on their own terms.
The script is written, choreography drafted, set and decoration design is underway, costumes are being dyed with tamarind seeds, music is composed--and we are getting ready for a development residency with all the performers. This piece has been 3 years in the making and is close to fruition. This funding will ensure that these spanish speaking artists are fully paid, have the supplies they need, and can safely get to and from rehearsals in Minneapolis, MN.
For transparency, we will post exactly how and when the funds were used.
We are looking to pay for--
- 2.5 months of full time Directorial work.
- 20-30 hours of music transcription.
- $1,800 for one month of transportation costs.
- Supplies for development of set/costumes.
- Nutrition for artists during rehearsals.
