"Help me be independent so I can walk again!!!"

It is with extreme anxiety and hesitation that we are doing this Go Fund Me. The good news is…. I have surgery scheduled on July 9th for a total hip replacement. They will perform the left hip first and the right 4-6 weeks later. I received notice this week that I was denied FMLA for this very important upcoming surgery because I used all of that coverage from being out from Jan 11 - March 25, when I was hospitalized for my hips and then at home getting home health care.

I have always worked and taken great pride in providing for myself as well as my family. This past year has been the most challenging, painful and humbling of my entire life.

Luckily, my apartment complex transferred me from a second floor apartment with excruciating stairs, that I could no longer get up or down… to a ground floor apartment in March. I was then able to leave my apartment again without the assistance of the ambulance and fire department giving me a “lift assist”. I am very thankful to my sons Ryan & Drew for facilitating that move, however, I truly need help to fund my rent, car payment, utilities, food and other costs associated with my being out for these surgeries. The recovery time ranges from weeks to months with many variables.

I am keeping my fingers crossed & am in the process of getting permission from HR to work from home as soon as I am cleared from the surgeon. I LOVE my job and will return to work as soon as I am physically able to do so.

I truly love and appreciate everyone who has been there for me throughout this difficult time, & I’m very much looking forward to being able to walk with Shawn, without a walker, not being in constant pain, and someday soon able to celebrate with all of you a successful recovery.
