My dear friend Karima has truly been experiencing a series of unfortunate events. Her 94 year old Mom, whom she was living with and caring for the last decade, caught the flu despite having had a flu shot, and passed away. Since then Karima has had two eye surgeries, two dental surgeries, an exploratory abdominal surgery for still-undiagnosed, severe, chronic stomach pain, a fall in which she broke her hand in multiple places, and a hip replacement.
She hasn’t been able to work much for a couple of years and not at all since April. Medical bills have piled up and she’s still not able to get back to work. She’s scheduled for more testing and an MRI later this month.
I’m far away but would like to help by raising some money for medical and living expenses to get her through the next few months. Hopefully she can get back to her job soon, but first, she needs to just get well.
