Help Fund Kae’s Top Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Kae, and I am a nonbinary theatre artist from Texas. I am raising funds to help me access top surgery—a step that is essential for me to become free to be who I know I’ve always been.
Living in Texas, I witness firsthand how access to trans healthcare is becoming more limited and uncertain under current administrative powers of the state. This fact has pushed me to move forward with surgery, as it may only become more inaccessible in my state if I wait.
Deciding to move forward with surgery, I was able to put down a deposit, feeling hopeful about the future and the positive changes this would bring to my life.
Shortly after making that commitment, I was involved in a car accident that totaled my vehicle. The unexpected costs of replacing my car forced me to use the funds I had set aside for surgery. This setback has been difficult, both financially and emotionally, as I now find myself unable to cover the remaining cost of surgery. Despite these challenges, I remain determined to move forward and am reaching out for support from my community.
Having top surgery would change my life for the better in ways that are hard to put into words. It would allow me to live more authentically and with greater confidence, and is something I have worked towards for the past ten years of my transness. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the cost of surgery, helping me take this important step in becoming the most authentic and honest version of Kae. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can offer—whether through a donation or by sharing my fundraiser with others.
