Hi, my name is Julissa Reed. I’m a 19-year-old first-generation college student with a big dream and an even bigger purpose from Saint Louis. This fall, I will be attending my dream school Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) where I’ll be majoring in International Business with a minor in Criminal Justice.
My long-term goal is to become a criminal defense attorney and a purpose-driven entrepreneur. I plan to continue my education after earning my bachelor’s degree by attending law school to help advocate for underserved and overlooked communities.
I’ve always been committed to academic excellence. I graduated Salutatorian of the Class of 2024 with a 3.8 GPA and currently hold a 3.2 college GPA. These achievements are the result of hard work, perseverance, and the belief that education is the key to breaking generational barriers.
While I’ve been fortunate to receive several scholarships, including:
• Dream Builders for Equity – $2,000
• Lift for Life Academy Scholarship – $5,000
• CBC Spouses Education Scholarship – $1,500
• Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship – $1,000
I still need additional support to fully cover tuition, housing, books, and living expenses at FAMU.
As one of eight siblings in a close-knit family, finances have always been a challenge. But with your help, I can take the next step toward fulfilling my dreams and becoming a positive force in my community and beyond.
If you believe in the power of education, in supporting young Black women, and in helping future leaders rise I humbly ask for your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me closer to my future.
