My amazing Godson, Josiah, has been invited to this year's National Student Leadership Conference. This will allow him to study Engineering at Duke University in North Carolina this summer. He has dreamed of attending UC Berkely's Engineering program since he was eight years old. Despite a learning disability, Josiah has worked unbelievably hard to achieve his dream. He is currently a Junior in the CECA(California Early College Academy) program at Inderkum High School which allows him to take college courses as well as his high school classes. He also plays football, runs track, and wrestles. He is an active member of Inderkum's Black Student Union, as well as The 100 Black Men Sacramento Chapter. He is a loyal friend, protective brother to his little sister and big brother, and a loving son to his Mother and Godmother. Together, we can raise the funds to send him to this leadership conference. The money raised will cover the costs of his program tuition, room, meals, and text books as well as helping his dream come true.
