help Jonathan's study abroad Journey to New Zealand

Hi everyone, my name is Jonathan Johnson, I'm currently in my sophomore year at Georgia Gwinnett College pursuing a degree in political science with the intention of becoming involved in organizations such as UNICEF, the United Nations, and the World Bank. To my core, community outreach and global volunteerism is what I'm truly passionate about.

Throughout my high school and higher education journey, my push for studying abroad was met with so many no’s then yes’s. Earlier this spring, after so much hard work, time, dedication, and figurative sweat and tears, I was accepted into CIEE’s Internship Plus Study Abroad program in New Zealand for the fall. At the time, I was overcome with so much joy and emotion; however, unfortunately, the program was canceled after a couple of weeks of being enrolled.

During my time in the summer, I worked for a wonderful organization called “Just People.” There, I was able to assist and be a friend to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. That organization changed my life, and even now, I'm truly grateful to be interning for MyPolis, an amazing team committed to making an impact in the youth, bridging the gap between them and local leaders to make positive changes in their communities.

When the opportunity came again to apply for a program to New Zealand in the spring, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and to my surprise, I was accepted again, this time in CIEE’s Open Campus Block program. This means I will be able to take classes necessary for me to graduate alongside doing a service-learning project geared towards community service. Second chances like these don’t come back to many of us so when they do you have to make it count. and i intend to; however, this is an expensive endeavor that requires help, Your donations, big or small, will be truly appreciated. Your contribution will not only aid to foster my academic journey but will be a catalyst to better prepare me for my career field. Your donations will directly go toward program fees, visa fees, books and supplies, and airfare expenses. Again, thank you so much for taking your time to read my GoFundMe page your donation brings me one step closer to studying in New Zealand.
