My name is Jamie Patterson and I am making this GoFundMe page in hopes to raise money to hire a private attorney. Since September 2024, right before my hearing had started regarding an ongoing case involving my 4 children, I was informed by the case manager that the County program that was available to court appoint attorneys who handled CHIPS/TPR cases had run out of funds and unfortunately the program had ended. Since then, I have not been represented by any kind of attorney. I contacted all legal resources and services that were available, but unfortunately, no resources had services in the county that my children's case is in. I was even turned down by the public defender's office as well. Since then, and at every hearing after, I have been walking into court blind and not represented. Recently, I learned that by law and my rights, until my children are placed back with me, I am supposed to have legal representation.

During this whole time, the county's department has continued to violate my parental rights. I have done all that was required for me to complete by the courts (still doing all that is required). I have shown stability, I have all services started that were required for me to have done, and I never miss a visit unless it is due to illness or weather problems. I enrolled myself into college as a full-time student since April 2025 to pursue a career change into becoming an attorney who does Family & Juvenile Law for the exact reasons of what I have been dealing with.

The two times I emailed a complaint against the case manager, she found out, and two weeks later each time, she took drastic actions against me. The first time, she had a random test done on me, and the results were 100% not accurate and by far were falsified. The second time, she illegally gained access to an old phone of mine that was given to one of my daughters to have, which had been disconnected for over 6 months (phone & number), and read a thread of three text messages. She misunderstood the messages completely and then had local law enforcement open an investigation to have me criminally charged.

I moved out of my hometown county, where I had lived my entire life, and moved an hour away to a different county. I was told that after 6 months of living in the new county, the case was to be forwarded to the new county, but they have not done so and refuse to do so. I have now lived in the new county for 13 months. The choice to move was because I was told by my previous social worker (CCS) and therapist that if I remained living in the county, I would more likely not have my children placed back with me and that the CPS department was definitely targeting me for all the wrong reasons.

So, I am asking if someone, anyone, is willing to help donate so I can hire a private attorney to defend me and get my children back. All private attorneys I have contacted require $10,000-$15,000 to be paid immediately for a retainer, and then monthly payments of $2,000, totaling anywhere from $20,000-$30,000. I don't come from money, nor do I have a family that would be willing to help. I am not that far into my schooling to be able to represent myself, so I am 100% on my own.

Funds will be used specifically only for me to hire a private attorney and cover all attorney fees. This is my one and only option since there is absolutely no available legal resources that is able to help in the county where order is.
