My name is James Juma, and I am reaching out to seek your support in funding my master’s program in Economics at the University of British Columbia in Canada.

The last two years have been pivotal in shaping my graduate level academic aspirations. Returning to Kenya and Tanzania immediately upon my graduation from Stanford University in 2022 exposed me to a diverse set of challenges and opportunities in my continent. Volunteering for a year in Tanzania's Unga Limited slum emphasized the need for development economics to combat poverty through partnerships among the private, public, and non-governmental sectors. These insights gained at the grassroots level, motivate my pursuit of research that has tangible and positive impacts on vulnerable communities. I am grateful that the University of British Columbia has provided me that platform.
