Fund Iridescence: An AAPI Short Film
iridescencefilm.com
Logline: When a college-bound Chinese American artist has a confrontation with his traditional, first-generation father which triggers his first panic attack he has to use art to express himself so that he can better understand and connect to his family.
This past year has been an unprecedented era of hate and violence towards the AAPI community, and our generation is no stranger to this hostility. During this time, screenwriter and creator Jeremy Hsing wrote Iridescence from the heart, a story of family and love that amplifies the voices of underrepresented communities and sheds light on stigmatized issues within the community. From the words of Jeremy himself:
“This is a huge passion project for me, given the huge surge of deteriorating mental health in the AAPI community, especially in Gen Z youth. Now more than ever, it’s so important to tell stories that amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and destigmatize mental health. This is the most personal piece of art that I’ve ever made, and it would mean the world to me if you could help my dream of turning this script into a reality.”
With a majority Asian American cast and crew, our team is not creating this story for fame or money. We are creating this film from our hearts, to amplify the message to uplift AAPI voices.
If you are able to donate, please consider helping fund Iridescence, a film that holds so much intimacy to our communities and aims to give a voice to those who can sometimes feel voiceless. You can also Venmo your donation to @Tiffany-Hue!
