Hi everyone!
My name is Grace Nerdahl, and I’m a sophomore at Carroll University, majoring in Biology with a direct-admit seat in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
As part of my degree, I’m required to complete a cross-cultural experience-an immersive trip that helps students learn firsthand about different cultures through travel, study, and service. In March 2026, I’ll have the incredible opportunity to travel with my classmates and professors to Sardinia, Italy!
Sardinia is especially exciting because it’s one of the world’s famous Blue Zones-areas where people live longer, healthier lives. We’ll explore local history, visit cultural landmarks, and learn about the community’s unique lifestyle, diet, and environment that contribute to their longevity and overall well-being.
This experience connects directly to my studies and future career. As a biology major on the path to becoming a physical therapist, I’m passionate about understanding how movement, environment, and lifestyle impact human health. Learning from one of the healthiest populations in the world will give me new insights into preventive health, physical wellness, and aging, which I can carry into my future work helping others live stronger, healthier lives.
The total cost of the trip is about $7,000. I’m working and saving as much as I can, but I’m asking for a little help to make this amazing educational opportunity possible. Any donation-big or small-means so much and brings me one step closer to this life-changing experience.
Thank you all for your love and support!
