Fund Goosie’s Life-Saving Treatment

My dear 3 year old Goosie Girl was in the ER in April. After $5,000 worth of tests and ER visits, they said it was a fluke and hopefully woudln’t happen again. Unfortuently, that was not the case. As of late June, Goose had a fever of 106.9 (cat organ failure is 106 and death is 107). The vets told me that I could say goodbye now, or, because it was an undiagnosed issues, they could “throw anything they could at the wall” but it would be expensive and no guarantee at success. I begged them to try. We got back to the ER where they ran test after test and resulted in dry FIP. A very rare, and until recently, fatal diagnoses of Carova virus mutating within the cat and causing high fevers and death. There is ONE drug of treatment, and before June 6th, it was only in Japan. So if she had been properly diagnosed in April, she would have been put down. So everything had to happen this way because I was able to order the new FDA testing drug and she is the first kitty at the UoM. However, with the visit in April, the groundbreaking new meds, and the week in the ER, her bills are currently beyond $17,000. This does not include any necessary follow up appointments. She is also being monitored daily (by me with a thermometer and several drugs, and man does she let me know she’s mad), and we are hesitantly hopeful for a full recovery. Any and all help is appreciated and never expected. Honored with your love and support for me and my girl! And yes, I have insurance- but currently they’re processing the claim (hopefully they’ll accept it), but even if they do, the most coverage is going to be $5000. So here’s to fundraising for a paw-fect girl!
