Three shaved heads, one haircut, and one very important cause ❤️

Our 23-year-old sister/daughter has been fighting an incredibly rare form of brain and spinal tumour called Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal Tumour (DLGNT). It is an exceptionally rare condition, with only a very small number of cases reported worldwide, and there is still a lot that isn’t understood about it.

Over the past few months, she has faced more than anyone should have to at 23, including losing the use of her legs, and has recently completed a challenging two-month course of radiotherapy at Southampton General Hospital.

Throughout this time, the incredible teams at Jean’s House and the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Ward at Southampton General Hospital, through Young Lives vs Cancer, have been there for our sister and our family. Their care, kindness and support have meant an enormous amount to all of us.

So, as a small way of giving something back, my dad, my brother and I are shaving our heads, while our older sister will be cutting her hair — and importantly, the hair she cuts will also be donated to help make wigs for people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment. ✂️❤️

We know three bald heads and one dramatic haircut probably won’t change the world — but if we can turn our hair into something positive and help other people going through cancer, then it will absolutely be worth it!

We’re raising money for Jean’s House and Young Lives vs Cancer, who have provided such incredible support to our sister and our family, and who continue to support young people and their families facing cancer.
