Fund for Xan, Tyce, and Kroix Smith

Chris Smith was an amazing father, husband, friend, teammate and leader who died suddenly at the age of 40 on Friday, November 13, 2020. He was a great friend and mentor to myself and many others at our company, Comcast, where he worked since 2019. We are all so sad beyond words that he is no longer with us. Though he was a Comcaster for just over a year, the impact he made will last for far longer. Through his empathy and kindness, he taught everyone what it means to be a teammate and leader. He reminded us that while results are important, relationships are what truly matter. In both his words and his actions, he taught me and my colleagues that as leaders, we must build up people, and that each and every interaction we have with our colleagues can have a lasting impact.

Chris was instrumental in helping so many navigate through this challenging year. Right after George Floyd’s murder, he helped lead an incredibly powerful listening session and he made a statement that is seared into my mind and heart. He said, “Bring light, not heat into whatever difficult situation and conversation we are faced with.”

Chris leaves behind his wife, Natasha, his father, and three sons, Xan (16), Tyce (12), and Kroix (8). We are heartbroken, especially for these young boys who lost their loving dad. So many have reached out to me and others to ask what they can do to help the family, so I have set up this scholarship fund to help with their education expenses. Thank you for helping us reach our goal to support Chris’ boys.
