Fund for Sharon Levin's End-of-Life Family Needs
Donation protected
Elizabeth Sharon Levin passed away early Monday morning, July 7, 2025, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Nelle Harris, and her two brothers, David Jr. and Sidney Harris. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Stephen Levin; her sons, David and Jonathan Levin; and her adopted daughter, Sarah.
Since March 2025, Sharon had endured a series of serious health challenges and injuries due to multiple falls, including a double sacral fracture, three fractured ribs, a thoracic vertebra injury, and other complications. She spent time in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, supported closely by her family, who remained by her side throughout.
Though naturally introverted, Sharon was a woman of quiet strength and deep resilience. She faced numerous hardships throughout her life, including a devastating car accident in which she broke her back, the sudden death of her first husband, and a tough but ultimately victorious battle with stage 3 ovarian cancer at age 60. Even after her sacral fracture—an excruciating injury—she worked hard to regain enough strength to return home one final time to celebrate her 81st birthday on May 17, 2025.
One of Sharon’s greatest joys was her nearly 45-year marriage to Dr. Stephen Levin and raising her children. She homeschooled David and Jonathan during a time when home education was still uncommon in North Carolina, and devoted herself fully to her family. She took great pride in the additions to her family over the years—David’s wife, Shelley, and their son, Simeon, and, more recently, Jonathan’s wife, Angelique.
She remained a quiet but vital presence behind the scenes—whether it was helping her husband with household tasks, taking care of their neighborhood HOA needs, or helping her son Jonathan proofread a press release for Clayton Piano Festival, etc. She was generous with her time and energy, always serving others in small, unseen ways.
A woman of steadfast Christian faith, Sharon was known to many as a faithful prayer warrior. She maintained a daily practice of lifting others up in prayer—often without their knowledge—meticulously recording their needs in her prayer journal. This quiet ministry remained important to her even as her strength declined.
She also found joy in nature, especially birds, and loved identifying the many species that visited the feeders she and Steve tended together.
Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace in the arms of God. We are profoundly grateful for her life, her love, and the example she leaves behind.
This fundraiser will help cover end-of-life expenses and remaining medical bills.
