It's with heavy hearts that we learned that Scott Is in desperate need of another liver transplant.
His first one was 20 years ago and was a great success, but, as is the case with transplants, they don't last a lifetime, sadly.
It was in august of 2019 where the signs were there that it was failing. Since then, there has been many visits to the specialists and long waits in the emergency room and hospital stays.
What's made worse this time - if anything could be worse - is he has been diagnosed with HRS syndrome. It's a life-threatening medical condition that consists of rapid deterioration in kidney function in individuals with liver failure.
The only remedy is another liver transplant.
His inability to work has caused great financial strain on him. His trips to Toronto to meet with his medical team is a financial burden with the great expense of gas, motel rooms and food.
For all of us that know Scott, he is always the first one to lend a helping hand.
In his time of need, we ask that we now extend that same helping hand to him.
We are most humble in our request of asking that if you are in a position to donate, please do.
Every donation of any kind would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in easing the financial constraints that he finds himself.
Let's try and alleviate that burden while he battles the greatest burden of all - saving his life.
Scott would never ask for assistance, but from all of us that love him, we are asking on his behalf.
