Ricardo Palomera is a great friend, an excellent teacher and overall a generous loving human being. He is always there to help anyone at anytime. I think we are all better for knowing him. He had to learn to be this good human from his parents. This past week he lost his father to Covid-19. His father lived in Mexico and was on his way to the hospital when he lost his life. The loss of a parent at any age I am sure is hard, but at the beginning of his life and career is especially hard. There are so many expenses that Ricardo will face to retrieve his father. As a teacher we know that this kind of expense seems insurmountable, but especially so at the end of the summer. We are hoping that we can help him be able take the trip to Mexico and do everything he needs to do to ensure a memorial worthy of his father and family. The traveling and funeral expenses here in the states can be fairly substantial. I cannot even begin to estimate what this will cost, but I do know we as a community can help him.
