3 years ago my husband came home and told me the most devastating news that will change all of our lives. My mother in law, Chantha Eckman, diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). At the time, we wasn't aware or even know what that was. The same day I took upon myself and searched online for 4 hours. The more I read about this horrible disease, the more it broke my heart. I shared the findings with my husband and had to tell him to be prepared. Not only our family but her love ones and her friends would have to be prepare to take this journey with her. To be strong with her and never give up hope because we believe in miracle. We believe in our mom and that she will fight this disease. It's been 3 years but yet she is still strong at heart and mind. She's always been a strong independent individual and would never ask for help and a woman that would do anything to help others. She would often tell us she's doing fine but physically she's not. Bless my husband for taking his time off his busy schedule to be there with her each day. He's always telling me he wants to do more for her because he feels what he's doing is not enough. That's why we thought of doing this next step to raise what we can to help her with some of her medical bills, treatments, medications, wheelchair, renovations to her home for better access and cost of homecare that she definitely need 24 hrs a day. Every penny is worth thousandths of love. Overall, we'd like to make our mom less stress while she's still fighting and she will keep fighting.
