Hi, my name is Elisha, is 17 years old and in love with the game of football, and I've recently torn my ACL and Meniscus while playing football and have been faced with a lot of hard decisions recently. As a year 12 student currently undergoing VCE this has caused a big shock and disruption in my life. The medical costs for the surgery amount to $12,000, unfortunatly my family and i do not have private health insurance as we are unable to financially unable to afford it, and the waiting list for the surgery in the public health care system is around 2 years minimum. Due to the fact that i have other health issues regarding my lower body, it is in my best interest to get the surgery done as soon as possible, which is why we are opting to get it done asap by paying the amount upfront. However, having to pay 12,000 upfront to fix my knee is overwhelming and almost impossible for my family and me to put together.
It is heartbreaking for me to see my parents struggle to put together money, and as their child, i see how much stress and sadness it is causing my parents to be unable to pay for my medical bills. They are not the type of people to ask for help which is why I've taken it upon myself to start this go fund me to be able to provide them with the option to receive help to alleviate their stress and get the surgery done, as my parents have done so much for me already, which i am infinitely grateful for.
The donations received will go towards paying for my surgery, and any donation will be greatly appreciated.
