To All of my Facebook friends;

As I have always been taught to give from the time I was a little girl, I am asking the same of you.  Giving back for the health, life, rewards, love, and safety most of us have had throughout our lives, I am asking you to help very dear lifelong friends of mine.  No matter how small you feel your gift can be, it is more than nothing and every little bit adds up.

My friends, Dion and Irene Boffo are in need right now and for the first time in their lives.  The ironic thing is that with very little financial resources, they have given to others all their married life.  They have given shelter to many who had none.  They have taken in kids with serious family situations and treated them as their own.  They have given encouragement to those who needed it.  Dion became a Pastor just for those reasons.  It was his calling to help others in need.  I can honestly say that I have never met a more selfless man than Dion.  And to boot, always with a smile on his face and love in his heart even when they themselves were facing serious financial difficulty.  It did not matter.  Others always came first.

Well, now it is time that I hope everyone of you that know Dion and Irene, can reach into your heart and pocket and help them as much as they have helped others.   And even if you don't know them, I am asking you to do it for me.

Dion suffered a very serious knee infection that almost took his life.  He went through two surgeries and countless infusions, IV medications, hospital stays, wound care, but nothing worked.  He unfortunately had to have his leg amputated or it would cost him is life.

Occupational therapy came to their home and made a list of all that needs to be done to change their home into a safe home for Dion.  To name a few, completely remodeled bathroom with a roll-in shower to accommodate a wheelchair.  This means all new plumbing, wallboard, replacing the sink so it can also accommodate his wheelchair, faucets that he can reach, grab bars, railings, and on and on.  They also need to take out all the carpeting in the house and put in hard flooring for the wheelchair which one cannot do on carpet.  And, needless to say, he needs a wheelchair.

This is just the beginning of the changes Dion needs, but I am hoping we can give them a good start and mostly, peace of mind.

Again, any amount you feel you can spare will be so dearly appreciated.

Thank you,
Chelle
