Jackson is my amazing 10 year old son who has cystic fibrosis, a life limiting genetic condition that causes his body to produce thick, sticky mucus which affects his lungs and other vital organs. His old school district, Douglas County School District in Colorado, removed Jackson’s physician prescribed masking accommodation from his 504 medical plan despite the fact that masking is a reasonable accommodation under the American with Disabilities Act. They did this without consulting me or his physician. I had no other choice but to pull Jackson and his younger brother from school and relocate to California to a school willing to follow ADA law. I am still trying to hold the school accountable and would love to raise the funds to retain a civil rights attorney. I used the original funds raised to retain a special education attorney who fought to get Jackson the masking accommodation in his 504. It was in place from January 4, 2022 to March 1, 2022 before it was illegally removed by his principal. We are so grateful for your help! Thank you! #JusticeforJacksonG
