Fund for Fallen First Responders

Our son, a dedicated and courageous first responder, tragically took his own life due to the immense mental health struggles he faced. His story, heartbreakingly, is not unique. Many first responders—whether they are firefighters, police officers, paramedics, or EMTs—deal with the devastating effects of mental health issues, including PTSD and suicidal tendencies. These heroes run towards danger and serve our communities with unwavering bravery, yet all too often their own struggles go unrecognized and unsupported.

It's time we acknowledge the silent battles these individuals fight every day. Establishing a memorial and funds to help those in need get the help they need and dedicated to the mental health of fallen first responders is a crucial step in honoring their sacrifices and raising awareness for those who continue to fight. These donations can serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health support in high-stress professions, and it would also offer a space of healing and support to individuals and families.

Raising money will help people to be able to reach mental health professionals, and first responder organizations.

Statistics from the National Alliance on Mental Illness show that first responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. Mental Health America reports that 30% of first responders develop behavioral health conditions including depression and PTSD, compared to 20% in the general population. These figures highlight the urgent need for change, and a donation in any amount can be a catalyst for further measures to support mental well-being in these professions.

Together, we can ensure that the bravery and sacrifices of our first responders are recognized not just in life, but also when their struggle with mental health becomes too great. Help us honor these heroes and push for a larger societal shift toward acknowledging and addressing the mental health of all who serve.

Please consider supporting those in need. Any amount will help. All proceeds will go to help those struggling with mental health and help them get the help they need.
Thank you so much for helping to support others through the memory of Zachary Sewell!
