Fund for Eve
Donation protected
On February 13th, we lost a dear friend and colleague, Sarah DuBrow, to a rapidly progressing cancer. Sarah was brilliant, kind, fiery, and a loving wife and new mother. This is a tragic and unfathomable loss for her friends, family, and the scientific community. We have set up this fund for her two-month-old daughter, Eve, to be used by her husband Ben for immediate needs and for a 529 plan for her college education. We hope Eve will one day cherish this legacy of love from all who knew her mother.
A message from Ben
Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues of Sarah,
On behalf of Sarah's immediate family, I would like to extend our profound gratitude for your overwhelming generosity. Although we are still reeling from the loss of our beloved Sarah, we have been absolutely blown away by the outpouring of support from the community. The contributions, large and small, are deeply appreciated and will be put to use in supporting Eve's pre and post K-12 education/care. As a professor, Sarah strongly valued education and lifelong learning and so the impact of these gifts is particularly fitting and will be moving to witness as Eve grows.
Much of what has transpired in the last several months has felt cruel and senseless. The breadth and volume of love and support arriving from all corners is a powerful and lingering rejection of this darkness. Eve is deeply fortunate to have such love available as she learns and thrives in the many years ahead.
Thank you to you all. Words cannot express our gratitude.
-Ben, Eve, Ines, Paul, Wes, and Christine
