Fund for Charlie Hoffman
Last Friday my niece, Charlie, woke up with a high fever which continued on through the weekend. She was treated with Tylenol and cuddles per doctors orders since this was probably just a virus that’s been going around. Over the weekend her fever stayed up and she became increasingly more lethargic and just not her happy, social little cuddle bug. Fast forward to Tuesday, and thanks to a pediatrician who believed my Brother in-law and Sister when they said something wasn’t right, they were rushed to Niswonger and long story short - Charlie has bacterial meningitis caused by Group B Strep.
She was so, so sick (and still is) but her doctors and nurses are amazing and taking good care of her. Over the last two days there has already seen a noticeable difference and she has started to perk up. She’s on the right meds and her little body is responding well. She is still extremely fussy and very clearly in pain, but all involved are thankful for these little glimpses of our girl feeling better.
Jessi, Aaron and Charlie will be in the hospital for a minimum of two weeks, then at that time they will re-check everything and make a game plan from there.
The funds collected will be spent on her hospital stay and any further treatments that may be required.
