Meet Brantley! He is a 6 year old energetic and loving son. Unfortunately at the age of 16 months old he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called peutz jeghers syndrome which causes polyps in the abdomen and had a rectal prolapse. Following this hardship in our family’s life encouraged us to relocate in Massachusetts from Florida to get him the best medical care he deserves. For the most part since then we have been able to maintain his health with routine check ups until this last month. Brantley went into the hospital with a severe small bowel intussusception due to a large polyp and underwent major surgery to have part of his bowel removed. His road to recovery has not been easy. He spent 2 long weeks in the hospital only to go home and come back a week later with a bowel obstruction. This caused him to go in for another major surgery and add another 2 weeks of stay for him. During this time it has created financial hardship for our family. My wife and I drive an hour and a half daily to divide time with him and our 2 other children. It has caused me to miss multiple days of work as the provider of the family. Unfortunately this year has not been our luckiest. Shortly before Brantley’s surgery, my wife was diagnosed with a rare carcinoma cancer and has caused her weeks in the hospital as well. Upon creating this fund, I am hoping to achieve a goal in providing my family with the financial losses we have endured during this unimaginable time in our lives. I would also like to be able to provide my family with some happiness and grant them a trip to relieve some of the stress we have all gone through together. Every little bit counts. I know there are a lot of people out there struggling but every family has their own hardships. Have a heart for Brantley and his family!
