This fund was created to support the family of a local and beloved preschool teacher, M. Alvarez, whose 25-year-old son was shot and killed while protecting his family during a home invasion robbery on July 15, in Sammamish.   Contributions will cover funeral and Harborview medical costs - anything left over will go to support Ms. Alvarez and her other three children with family expenses, such as rent and food.  Ms. Alvarez has worked at our preschool center for five years - she is loving and nurturing and her students and families love her.  We ask our community to pull together so she and her family can focus on healing without needing to worry about money.   Please join me in supporting Ms. Alvarez and her family.
