Fund for Anaya Ramos Recovery

This fundraiser is setup on behalf of the Ramos family, specifically, Anaya Ramos. Below was taken only months ago - Anaya receiving an award from her principal for the highest math score in Florida at her grade level.

 

 

About a week before Thanksgiving Anaya was a healthy, active and sweet & sassy 10 year old. One day she got a low grade fever and wasn’t feeling so well, went to the dr. They tested her for Covid, Strep - both negative and sent her home. Within 24 hours she started seizing at home. The ambulance were called and she was rushed to the hospital. After test she was diagnosed with being dehydrated/sick. Sent home again. Hours later she started seizing again and this time it was longer/different. She was rushed to a children's hospital  where (after a battery of test) it was determined she had a rare bacterial meningitis. The doctors quickly put her on broad antibiotics to try to keep the bacteria from spreading - but it already had. Anaya at this stage was fighting for her life and had to under go TWO neurological surgeries within hours of arriving at the hospital. While the outcome was unknown and the statistics were not on her side —- Anaya has pulled through like a warrior and we are finally past the life threatening stage. The family is so thankful for prayers and well wishes. They remain private as this will be a very long and hard road but Anaya is still on earth with us. Currently she is able to open her eyes and starting to move on command. She’s also starting to show her personality a bit - which is such a relief for everyone. Gladys and Felix have not left the hospital in over a month. Please pray for the Ramos family.
