Fund for a working vehicle.

Hello, my name is Tou. I am fundraising to get a new vehicle, as my car is no longer functional due to an accident that happened to me on 05/18/22. What had happened was I was driving on the highway almost reaching my exit, and a car from behind me speeds up and tries to lane change in front of me. Instead, he hits my car and both our cars spin out. I made the stupid mistake of not calling the cops at that moment and instead of trying to settle it in person with the 4 Hispanic people agreeing to pay for repair costs. After getting a repair quote and sending it over to the person, he refused to pay it and offered to take it to one of his relative's mechanic shops. I agreed at first, but after thinking that they might use cheap parts and cut costs down to as cheap as possible, I called back to refuse their offer and opted for the insurance route. I had to call and text them back constantly to get a hold of them, but they never sent me their insurance card until my insurance agent contacted them and gave it to me. When I called their insurance agency, they told me they didn't receive any information other than causing the accident but didn't bother to text or write down who they had hit. Their insurance then sent me to one of their adjusters, with him telling me that nothing could be done because apparently, they had no insurance the day of the incident. Since they had no insurance after the incident that nothing could be done for my vehicle, leaving me to call my insurance agent for more options. After calling my insurance agent, the agent said he would do everything to make them pay for damages until a day later, I got a call from my insurance stating that no compensation would be done since my car is on liability. After contacting my agent one last time for further options, he said that he could do nothing.

The 4 Hispanic people were hard of hearing and had little English speaking ability. I often had difficulties getting across to them. Making the conversation extremely unbearable since I was trying to get to the point, and they were talking circles. After both insurances said they couldn't do anything for me, I gave them a call only to be told they would call back later since the person at fault wasn't home. Until today I haven't received a call from them and am currently seeking a lawyer consultation.

I am aware that 20k might be excessive, but buying used cars has been getting more and more expensive compared to the past. I have been having difficulties getting to work, I have been using a family member's vehicle, but it is a hassle for them since they need it as well. I have been driving a hand me down 1998 Honda Accord that has 235,00+ miles on it. It was still in great shape as I took great care of it and was planning to keep it for a very long time. But now it is no longer in great condition and if the insurance were to be able to do something, they would've totaled my car anyways.

I currently have no money to repair, let alone purchase, a new, used car since I have been paying many bills. The funds will be appreciated and used to buy a used car and any leftover will go straight into paying bills and my mothers hospital bill.
