Fund for 5 children after mother's death

We are raising funds to help the 5 children of my twin sister, Julie Metcalf-Gurule after her tragic suicide May 1, 2019.
Julie was an incredible, creative and caring woman who also struggled with depression and navigating the stresses she found herself under. She struggled with addictions as her tools for coping when she wasn’t able to bear it. Julie was holding up tremendous weight with a complicated life but would give her friends and family the shirt off of her back.
Losing my sister and their mother so quickly and unexpectedly has left us in absolute shock and despair. The life my sister’s family was building has been stolen from them and her devoted husband, Chris is now faced with raising 5 children alone.
This fund will be rolled into investments for the children’s future, specifically funding college. Having grown up in a large, low-income family, I didn’t believe as a child that college was even a possibility for me when I grew up. I was fortunate to find my way to college and create a life after that I'd never imagined possible. I want this dream for my niece and nephews.
Through this page we want to support the children with hope for a brighter future than they may currently be envisioning. We want the children to seek to reach their highest potential. The funds will be invested until they reach college and then divided among them.
Any donation will help. I believe as a community, we can pull together for them and show them someone believes in them. If you are able to give, we would be so beyond appreciative. It would help restore their hope of a future.
