As many of you know, Fedor is one of the nicest people out there. He is loyal, hardworking, and always there for his friends and family. What we've realized over the last few days really goes to show that everything happens for a reason and life is truly precious.
On the evening of Wednesday, January 25th I found Fedor having a seizure. He had never had one before so we immediately went to the emergency room. Initially they tested his blood and urine, which back completely normal, so the next step was to do a CT scan. After what seemed like days, the doctor finally came back to review the results. The CT scan showed a 5cm mass in his left front brain, about the size of a lime. From that point he was immediately admitted to the hospital and scheduled for an MRI the following morning. On Thursday, January 26th his neurosurgeon, Dr. Gutierrez, let us know the mass is most likely a meningioma tumor that will require surgery to remove. Dr. Gutierrez is confident that this is a benign tumor that has most likely been growing there the last ten years. We will know for sure after they remove the tumor and do a biopsy. Once everything goes well with the surgery they expect him to make a full recovery. He won't be able to drive or work for at least 3 months, but should be out of the hospital within a week.
As of now the surgery is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd at St. Mary's hospital.
Fedor and I are sincerely grateful for any donations made to help us cover medical expenses and bills. And please pray for our boy this week and through his extended recovery.
