Fund expedition to Kenya with Camps International in 2027

My name is Olivia, I am 14 years old and I’m raising money to participate in an expedition to Kenya in East Africa as part of a Camps International challenge. Raising the funds is part of the challenge, to enable me to go on this four week trip to work with communities who have little income other than subsistence farming, plagued by drought, infertile soil and crop sabotage from wildlife. Average life expectancy is 50 years of age, frighteningly low compared to Western Europe. About 51% of the population lives in absolute poverty and the work in East Africa is essential to improve the lives of the communities. Various projects could be building desks for school children, building classrooms, digging watering holes for elephants, making ethical elephant deterrents to protect crops and help reduce poaching, working and maintenance in a rhino sanctuary, deworming livestock and installing freshwater tanks in schools and villages. I won’t know until I arrive exactly what project I will be involved with but I expect it to be hard work, although it will be extremely rewarding. Whilst on expedition. I will also have the exciting opportunity to go on Safari, push myself to the limits with climbing over 5000m to the summit of Mount Kenya, only 10 miles from the equator and visit the eastern coasts on the Indian Ocean for a beach cleanup.
