Fund Essential Supplies for Arts Students
Donation protected
I scramble to set up my room each school year, largely doing so on unpaid time with personal supplies. Help me create a welcoming, clean, and creative classroom for my students this year!
This year I'm reaching out for a bit of help! We're navigating a 20% cut to the Arts Conservatories at our school. We are the only public arts high school in Chicago. This fundraiser will help me and my students feel supported as we navigate uncertainty with our school funding.
I intend to have a room and space that makes my job and the students' days better every day. There are very real supplies and safety concerns that motivated me to take up this charge. Beyond that, the room feels bare and I'm trying to find ways to make it feel like a home. Plus it's where I host GSA, so having it be equipped as a comfortable meeting space is ideal!
Things I'm fundraising for!
- A New Lead-Filtering Brita Filter for the Classroom and Filter Replacements. (Science teachers recently tested the water on our floor and it had high/unsafe lead levels)
- A rug so art students have a space to sprawl out and work during the 3 hour class periods I host.
- Backgrounds for pin-up boards
- File organizing system so students have a better place to turn in their assignments
- organizing bin/lock boxes to minimize theft issues we're having with supplies
- Additional Arts Supplies requested by students that the school can not provide (larger color pencil packs and markers)
- Printmaking supplies
- A new reading chair. My chair has been very worn out (more like destroyed lol) by students.
- Small prints from local artists that support the artist community, and connect students to their artistic elders.
- Funds to cover my time that is not paid for while I set up for the school year!
