The story
As you may or may not know, Empathy Test is a completely independent electronic pop act from London, UK, comprising childhood friends Isaac Howlett (vocals/songwriting) and Adam Relf (composition/production). We have been successfully self-releasing music for five years now, including two albums and a string of singles/EPs.
The director
In our first five years, Empathy Test has somehow not gotten round to making a music video...but now we have the chance to work with award-winning director Calum Macdiarmid. Calum has offered to create a stunning, professional music video at a fraction of his usual fee because well, he's a personal friend and he LOVES the track in question, our most recent single, Empty Handed .
The idea
Calum has already sent us his idea and, no exaggeration, it made our jaws drop. Think JG Ballard meets David Lynch in an underground car park. You can see the fantastic music video he created for one of Adam's other music projects, Three Laws, here (mature content). Calum is extremely talented and has worked with an impressive array of other artists and big brands. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with him on this.
How you can help
Filming will take place THIS Friday and Saturday (16th/17th) in London and we need your help! Everything we do is self-financed with the support of our amazing fans and this video will be no exception. With your donations, we need to raise £4,000 as quickly as possible in order to pay for Calum and the crew's time, props, location, equipment hire etc. Basically, everything that goes into creating a professional music video.
You won't walk away empty-handed, of course. Not only will you have the warm glow of having helped us once again achieve our dreams, get that Empathy Test video you have always wanted, but we've got some exclusive rewards to help you part with your cash.
