Fund Ellies Road to Recovery!
Doação protegida
Hi, My name is Christen and I'm Fund-raising for my puppy Ellie. Ellie is a mini Australian Shepherd puppy, she's 5 months old, and has already been through quite a bit at such a young age. Ellie has a sister Berkeley and between the two of them they are my pride and joy. Being that Ellie is sick and Berkeley is incredibly healthy, I will do anything I can to make sure Ellie gets the help she needs.
I noticed after she was house trained that something wasn't right when she was essentially "leaking" urine around the house and she had no idea. I took her to the vet to explain what was going on and they ran some test including a urine sample, and told me she looked healthy and had no infections in her urine which sadly could only mean something more serious was going on inside. After talking with Ellies Vet I was going to wait to see if it was something she would grow out of, but when her condition got worse, and she was uncomfortable I knew it was something I couldn't put off.
I was referred to Boundary Bay Vet Specialist Hospital. I was never expecting that Ellie would have a condition that she was born with, that would most likely require surgery and medication following that. They expect she has an Ectopic Ureter. Meaning her ureter doesn't connect to her bladder and her urine drains somewhere outside the bladder. If left untreated this can result in UTI's, stones, and even kidney failure. It was after receiving my estimate for the first bill at Boundary Bay that I realized I couldn't do this alone and I needed help from my friends, family and community. Ellies first estimate came in at $6000 just for her exam, urine sample, blood sample, X-rays, IVP, Cystoscopy, and Endoscopy. This wasn't including the surgery they said she would most likely need following these tests, and the medication that she will need. That came in around $8000-$10,000.
For everyone that knows me, my dogs are my everything. I only want what's best for them and for them to live the longest, happiest, healthiest life they can. For Ellie to heal and live the same life as her sister, she needs these treatments. These donations will be used for Ellies bill at Boundary Bay Vet Specialist for the test she will undergo.
A donation of any amount would truly help me reach my goal to help Ellie. If you could help me share my fundraising link it would mean the wold to me. The more people hear about this the quicker I can reach my goal.
With love,
Christen, Berkeley and Ellie
