Fund Duncan Martinez’s vision for 17 Doors

Donation protected
My name is Maggie Garduno, I am raising money as one of the producers for a short film titled 17 Doors. The film is directed by Duncan Martinez a Cal State LA Television, Film and Theater MFA student who is making this film in culmination of his degree. *We will be ongoing raising money to cover costs spent on the film and help pay for post production of the film.*
17 Doors is a short film, approximately 10 minutes in length, that addresses the prisons we create by our inability to talk about mental health issues. It is a short film about the panic events associated with agoraphobia, especially the first full-blown incident. Any story about mental health is a challenge, and we plan to attack the reality head on.
We address these issues by being honest with the project, knowing exactly what our shots have to be, and remembering that the people working the film are more important than the film. Our script is true to recurring trauma, and we have to be certain to shoot that… not explore into other areas simply because they might look good. We have to know our shots and get them, remembering that they exist for a specific reason. Finally, we need to have people in place who ensure that what we film does not become reality for anyone on set. In this place of trauma must come healing; our actions will, if we do them right, lead to a better understanding of this type of pain.
