From the moment I stepped into a rehearsal room, theatre became more than performance—it became a sanctuary. A place where I could use my body, voice, and imagination to make sense of the world. A space where collaboration breathes life into stories, and where movement and sound can speak louder than words ever could.
I am Dillon Vineyard, a theatre major and educator. I recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Theatre Education. I have over three years of experience working in education with an unshakable passion for new works and devised theatre. I first fell in love with devised theatre during my first semester of undergrad, when I helped build a Bardian-themed show from the ground up. I led the musical creative team, composing and arranging original songs that wove seamlessly through the physical storytelling. That experience changed me—it showed me the transformative power of collaborative creation, where the ensemble becomes the author, and where silence, movement, and rhythm can be just as profound as text.
Since then, I’ve deepened my exploration of experimental theatre, studying under mentors like Dr. Ana Luisa Martinez, who introduced me to Spanish Golden Age drama, street performance, and avant-garde storytelling forms. I’ve led high school students through their first devised scenes and taken risks in experimental movement labs, learning how to give and receive feedback, how to let go of perfection, and how to trust the ensemble.
I’ve just been accepted into the Guildford School of Acting (click check it out). GSA is a prestigious MFA Acting program , a two-year conservatory-style program in the UK that focuses on the exact kind of work that sets my soul on fire. I’ve already been awarded a £5,000 scholarship (6,000 USD)—but as an international student, I still face significant financial hurdles to get there.
My dream is to perform internationally, collaborate across disciplines, and one day return to the classroom to teach and mentor the next generation of storytellers. With your support, I can begin this journey. Every dollar brings me one step closer to the rehearsal room, the ensemble, and the work I’ve spent my whole life preparing for.
Why It Matters?
I believe the arts are essential to education. I’ve seen how performance arts can change lives. With an MFA, I will return well equipped as a performer and to mentor the next generation of actors while contributing to underserved arts communities and tell stories that uplift, challenge, and connect.
I am currently applying for scholarships, working part-time, and exploring every option to pursue this dream, but I can not do it alone.
Call to Action
If you believe in the power of the arts, if I’ve ever made you laugh, cry, or think on stage—or if you simply want to support someone fighting hard to follow their calling.
