Hi everyone!

I am not one to do this lightly, but here goes. My name is Darius. My mom and I were given a judgment to leave our apartment by the end of the month, and we have no money to cover our moving expenses. My mom has multiple health conditions, including C-PTSD, childhood trauma, hypertension, and neuropathy, which make it difficult for her to move around. I, her autistic adult son, have had to take care of her as best as I can with her daily needs. We both live on SSI, and we've managed to make do on it with no help from friends or family, but this eviction process is costly, and this was our best option to raise the necessary funds for this move.

The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards rent (including the security deposit and a few months in advance), a moving truck rental, utilities, and other living expenses (including phone service, food and transitional housing) in order to make this new transition in our lives easier and smoother. We're both wanting to start our own businesses, my mom with making handmade art and I with photography, and we want to be able to have stable housing to do this as quickly as possible.

Update 6: We've been able to secure a PODS container, movers on standby to load our stuff in it, and are looking for our next place now. We've not yet found any place, but we're hopeful we will soon. We truly appreciate everyone who has donated for their contributions towards our new beginning! :)

Update 7: I will close this fundraiser, as it appears that we have enough to be able to do this move and hopefully get to our new home safely. We're going to have to be in a hotel for the time being before finding our next place, and we've had to upgrade our phones, since communication with the outside world is important.
