PROJECT SUMMARY
"Stand Out " is a 20-minute short film that tells the story of two high school girls Maya 15 and her best friend Jayla, as they struggle to connect with each other after a video of Imani getting into an argument with a teacher over a racially insensitive remark goes viral,

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Danielle Fuller is a filmmaker and animator based in New York City. She's currently a senior studying Film at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. With her work, Danielle looks to contribute to the movement of filmmakers using their stories to help bridge gaps in the representation of POC stories. Her work has been showcased by the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC), she's worked creatively alongside National Science Foundation-funded research and video initiatives as well as in association with an academic touring exhibit focused on the African Diaspora's history with coinage

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING
The funds will benefit our film crew by giving us the resources to create an impactful and timely story. The funds will be used for building our very own sets, feeding our cast and crew, transporting our equipment, renting a studio and school location, ensuring our equipment, obtaining permits to use the school location, and affording the fees to submit our film to festivals.
