Our family has had the pleasure of hosting Daix during this last school year. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine Daix and his family have decided it is best to continue his education outside of Ukraine.

To secure a place next school year, he needs to be able to pay tuition upfront. He is extremely smart and focused and very dedicated to his education.

We set up this Go Fund Me to help him cover his tuition for next school year. Daix has shared his story below.

Hi! My name is Daix, I'm a high school student from Ukraine, currently studying in the U.S. on an exchange program.

I was born in Donbas and first became a refugee in 2014 when Russia invaded Eastern Ukraine. Since then I had been living in Kyiv, affected by the full-scale war of 2022.

When I came to America last year, I quickly adapted, made many new friends, and had the amazing opportunity to become a part of the local community. My visa ends this summer; however, the situation in Ukraine has deteriorated significantly, making it practically impossible to come back safely and properly complete my education. Because of this, I want to keep studying abroad. After graduating high school, I want to go to college to major in neuroscience and become a scientist in the future.

My family is middle-income and works in war circumstances, making our financial situation unstable. My parents contibute a lot to the war effort and humanitarian aid while trying to support me and their own living expenses.

Therefore I'm raising money to cover education expenses for my next academic year and allow me to graduate in a peaceful environment.

Я народився в Луганську та вперше став біженцем у 2014 році, коли Росія вторглася на схід України. Відтоді я жив у Києві, де розпочалася повномасштабна війна в 2022.

Коли я приїхав до Америки минулого року, я швидко адаптувався, знайшов багато нових друзів і мав чудову можливість стати частиною місцевої громади. Термін дії моєї візи закінчується цього літа; однак, як багато кому з вас відомо, ситуація в Україні значно погіршилася, що робить практично неможливим безпечне повернення та належне завершення освіти. Через це я хочу продовжувати навчання за кордоном. Після випуску я хочу вступити до університету на факультет нейронаук та в майбутньому стати науковцем.

Моя сім'я має середній дохід і працює в умовах війни, що робить наше фінансове становище нестабільним. Мої батьки співпрацюють з армією і роблять великий внесок у воєнні зусилля та гуманітарну допомогу, намагаючись водночас забезпечувати мене та власні витрати на проживання.

Тому я збираю гроші, щоб покрити витрати на навчання протягом наступного навчального року та дозволити мені випуститись в мирній обстановці.
